To Lock Or Unlock???

Something has been bugging me for quite sometime that I had wanted to voice out, why in the world that, when you are with your husband / wife / lover, someone whom you have no qualm to, ehem, you know, but when you go to the bathroom on normal days, you will lock the door? I mean, there is nothing not seen before, right?

Also, if you are doing "BIG" business, I doubt your other half would barge in, would they? Unless they have fetish of THAT kind, yuckkk...

If you are taking shower and such, what's wrong with just closing the door for some privacy but don't lock it, who knows, something more interesting might happen??

On occasions too, I used to share hotel rooms with my staff and I also noticed that, most of the time, the door would be locked. I don't mean I tried to open the door, but you know, whenever the door is locked, there is a very obvious sound? It is not as if I am going to barge in, knowing fully well that someone is inside??

I think, it boils down to self confidence or whether you are comfortable in your own skin or not. Like Jamie once said, and also said by many others, if you have it, flaunt it. If you are in public places, of course discretion is of utmost importance but with your other half?? Or with your colleagues? May be, it is something unique to Asians. Probably Asians are less extrovert. I don't know. I am quite comfortable in my own skin, presently and I don't see the reason why I should lock my bathroom door if only my wife is in the house. Of course if there are guests, that will be different story altogether. But couples?? Hmmph, strange isn't it???

of course lock by habit!!

Just imagine you are used to leaving the door unlocked by habit; one day you may get literally with your pants down when you are in someone else's house or sharing a room with a person you're not so close with.

It may not be that thet "intruder" intentionally wants to "expose" you but it may simply be a child.

HORROR!!

Or are u advocating the mainland chinese laissez faire about using toilet doors and locks the way they should be used??????

obviously, when you are a guest, you lock the door lah. but what i meant was, if you and your husband stay in a hotel room, is it necessary to LOCK the bathroom door?

mainland chinese are more comfortable with nature, i guess. i'll blog about this one experience later on.

problem is if u are used to the "not locking" habit, u may not remember to lock the door in other circumstances!!

I also got mainland china toilet tale - darn funny, but dunno where the picture is already.
