Recently, there's a brouhaha over the proposal for "slipper garland" for our ex prime minister. That, I have to agree, is downright rude. He is after all, a senior, an ex prime minister and though we might differ in views, we have to agree to disagree. He might have made bad calls, but he had believed in it at the time (still is now) and all there is to there, is a big "IF". We the people are equally at fault for putting him in power for so long, so, the blame does not solely lies on him, if there is any blame.
Whereas, for the story of shoe thrown at George Bush, the story link here, the action is justified. Of course, there will always be two side to a coin but the reality is, war is never the solution. It causes more evil than good.
After reading the journalist explanation on why he did it, I have to concur that in most probablity, he did the right thing. He tells of heartbreaks caused by the war, the victims and the sense of helplessness of the innocents caught in the crossfire. Nothing, nothing brings out the worse in human except war. There is no gray area in war, either you are with me or you are against me. Very sad indeed. You do not get to sit on the fence. You either choose or choices will be made for you.
