Last Night In Saigon

I am blogging from the hotel lobby. Free internet. Fast one at that. Streamyx, come here and learn a thing or two from our "backward" neighbour!!! I would find a rocket to Pluto if I am Streamyx's CEO, but then, not everyone's skin is made up of Rhino's Hide.

Anyway, time flies and today is my third day in Saigon, leaving early morning tomorrow. Probably can squeeze in half a day's job tomorrow.

Saigon, or now known as Ho Chi Minh City (personally, I feel they should just build a brand new adminstrative city and name it Ho Chi Minh City, like our Putrajaya and let this city revert back to Saigon, it is more, oommmpphhh, IMHO) is a bustling city. I only stayed in their district 1 and the hustle and bustle of it is comparable to any city in SEA.

I love travelling for the fact that, every city, every country, would be very different. Culturally, economically, everything. This morning, I was at one of their local market and I saw people piling cartons of goods unto a rundown motorcyle, with barely 4 inches of seat left for the rider. The size of the total pile up could easily have taken up half a car's space. And they do the balancing act wonderfully. Mind you, the streets are narrow and full of humans and traffics, from pedestrian to small pick up vans and everything in between, and then some more....I see a mixture of motorcyle, or rather, the behind of it with the front portion modified into a sort of barrow to laod goods??

I had something like 3 glasses of avocado juice, delicious and costs less than RM 2.00 (USD 0.70). I think, I would have to pay no less than RM 6.00 for the exact same quality, no water added, mind you.

That is the best thing about countries with large population still in agriculture. You get fresh produce at really rock bottom prices.

Well, I will blog about the trip, or those that I can remember more when I reach home. Presently, I think I should sign off and go visit the "Sandman"
